Moon of the Wolf (1972)

After suffering through Legacy of Blood, I decided to move into a totally different area and check out the made-for-television werewolf flick Moon of the Wolf.

Plot/ When several locals are viciously murdered, a Louisiana sheriff starts to suspect he may be dealing with a werewolf.

This made-for-television entry in this set is one of the better ones. Amazingly, it features a lot more positives than negatives, being well-shot, logically scripted and is backed up by some good acting. This is not to mention that the locations are set perfectly to house this solid foray into real-life lycanthropy folklore. Yes, the special effects and werewolf make-up are lacking and it is more mystery than horror, but when those are the only basic flaws in this film, that is saying a lot.  In the end, this is an entertaining werewolf flick that can be enjoyed by the entire family. If you have not watched it, check it out!
